Nanase HarukaXReader: Mackerel

“Are you feeling any better?”

You glanced up at your raven haired boyfriend from the couch; you were curled up in his blue blanket with a faint smell of fresh cologne and chlorine lingering about.

 “Y-yeah,” You lied, offering a weak smile at him, the sole cause of why you were suffering from the painful twists your sickened stomach gave you. You hoped Haruka wouldn’t see through you though, knowing how sensitive the quiet boy is.

The freestyle swimmer ‘hm’-ed, squatting to your level, as his blank ocean eyes, which reflected the color of his addiction, gazed at your lethargic (e/c) ones. Gingerly, he tucked a (h/c) lock behind your ear and parted his lips to ask a monotone question, coated with sheer concern,

“Do you need anything else?”

Slowly, you shook your head, presenting him another crooked smile, “N-no, thank you.”

Haruka exhaled, folding an elbow on the couch, resting his chin on it. You fought the blood threatening to spill across your cheeks as he steadily watched you, his fingers ghosting across the dips and curves of your (s/c) features. Your lips curled upwards even more once you took note of the timid, bashful emotion coating his cerulean eyes and how you felt the weak trembles his fingers emitted.

“Sorry,” he quietly whispered, referring to the ‘food’ he fed you earlier, which was definitely the result of your current state. Averting his vision to the fingers brushing through your (h/c) hair, he made a mental note to never ever cook and feed you mackerel with juicy pineapples glazed on top.

You languidly cracked a small grin, overwhelmed at the bashful mien he was fighting down with a blank face.

 “Haru?”

The said male, diverted his attention to you, still not meeting your amused (e/c) eyes, when suddenly, a strangled grunt choked his throat and his stoic façade was distorted for a moment when you softly pecked his pale cheek. You inwardly squealed when you briefly witnessed that flustered expression. With endearing eyes, you muttered the words he never grew tired of hearing, “I love you.”
